Metal Halide Lamp(MH) was introduced in the 1960's primarily for industrial use.They are consist of a quartz or cermic discharge arc tube,containing high pressure mercury and a mixture of metal halide,and ensloed in a hard glass bulb.MH lamp can provide white light in a variety of correlated colour temperature(CCTS) ranging from 2700 to 20000 kelvin,and with a colour rendering index(CRI) of 65 to 90 or above.MH lamps have become exceedingly popular due to their wide range of spectral options and wattages that are available.They are now commonly used in commercial and residential applications where high output and efficiency are desired.
